Last week was so painful for my gaudy soul- I declare a palate cleanser week- who better to get us back to stylish cooing that The Herrera? Coo with me:
I can’t figure out if the print is layered or just has that effect- this collection was a nifty mosaic thing going on-
This skirt- don’t you just see things and think how fun would that be to sew?
Coat Envy- I just know it’s strokable!
Purr……purrr…..someone perfected that layering business!
A box of candy canes to anyone who tracks down this fabric for me!!!
Did you think I could make it all the way to the end without one snark? I did try- but look at this bodice? How could I not? It’s a strangely fitted test pattern! Phew. I feel better now.
Oh, one more thing- feast your eyes on our 2015 Jungle January badge! Glorious, emiright??

Not only is that white crop top fabric divine…but do I see long flowing culottes beneath them? All the garments so ladylike and the shoes so complimentary and then you hit us with the test pattern top….who would look good in that? The fabrics all seem inspired by Hawaiian flowers except the layered red dress…fabulous!

Darts must be used for the sleeve peak effects and one imagines that there is a zipper somewhere to get it on an off? The pattern piece must be quite something as it looks like there are no shoulder seams?

Its stapled to her.

I think the shoulder seams are actually darts that go to those funny sleeve points and the whole things gone wonky because it is on the bias…genius idea though. All the other garments are just delicious!

Sigh…. The perfect designer to end the year with! Love Herrera. Can I have them all, please? And I think some of that fabric is actually embroidery….

So pretty. Lovely antidote to the chilly temps in my neck of the woods. Love the black and maroon shoes with the flowered coat (although they don’t seem to fit the model very well – wonder how she’s keeping them on). I would definitely wear the coat (amazing collar) and a shorter version of the layered navy/charcoal dress.

Despite the bodice on the last one, I could probably be easily talked into wearing all of these – if I was 6″ tall and 100 pounds! Lovely fashions though!

Isn’t Carolina Herrera’s work lovely? So classy and pretty. I like concept of the pointy sleeves … as they are now, though, especially with the wavery sleeve hem, they just look odd. Oh, well, you can’t win’em all!
