Every year my former mother-in law would give me one of those draw string trash bag holders. Now I know she was just trying to make me stylish.
Eleanor had more than just emotional armor, Fred thought.
Always running late, Erica came straight to the runway from her paraffin wax treatment.
Word to the wise, Susan- don’t wash your sweaters and stuffed animals together- and clean your lint trap out more often.
That reminds me- time to change the storm windows out for screens. Thanks Phelan.
Anita promised she would join her guests just as soon as she finished shucking the oysters- no one could say she wasn’t the perfect hostess.

Is that an embroidery hoop in the first pair of pants? I’d heard of hoop skirt, but not hoop pants. Live and learn 😉

How they take such glorious fabrics and make them into…well, the kind of thing I used to make on my Tressy doll using elastic bands…

Oh I loved my doll couture- these just need toilet paper veils to complete them!

This is like the art of taking the most amazing fabrics and turning into the most depressing clothes…ever. Well, maybe not ever, but for now! On the positive side, maybe they’ll end up at Goodwill and then we’ll have a chance to do a remake. Always a silver lining 🙂

I could use some of Eleanor’s dress fabric right now – I see it as a puppy grooming glove. Phelan’s hip bones are haunting me, how long is it since that gal had her proper share of cake?

So I’m not the only one who noticed you could cut yourself on one of those hipbones?!

These are just sad. Even the fabrics aren’t doing anything for me. I don’t know… maybe the shiny fabrics in the first and last. I’m trying to be positive here.

Those designers always have access to the best and most unique fabrics… To bad some of them don’t know what to do with them! Am I ever getting an education reading these posts!

All I could see on the gal wearing the window screen is those painfully sharp hipbones. 😦 I know we joke about how models don’t eat, but she looks like she’s on her way to becoming another Isabelle Caro.
I’m on the fence about the fabrics though. The textures are…interesting…and have some coolness potential.

Ha ha. Oyster shucking Anita looks frightful – looks like a morticians apron and bandages on her slit wrists. And the Brillo pad dress looks so comfortable.

The fabric in the bottom half of those pants in the first pic is wonderful. But clearly, the designer felt it needed to be grafted onto some cheap ripstop nylon cast-off from someone’s ’80’s harem pants. Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!
And except that Eleanor’s dress makes me pleasantly nostalgic for my gran’s candlewick bedspread, I’d say the rest is pretty dismal. But, hey! Cheer up, girls. Halloween is right around the corner and at least you know there won’t be anyone else wearing the same costume! Silver lining, folks!

Grim Gothic but three cheers for Eleanor wearing the perfect dress for sneaking to the front of the line.
