Wearable Wednesday Phelan

Every year my former mother-in law would give me one of those draw string trash bag holders. Now I know she was just trying to make me stylish.

Eleanor had more than just emotional armor, Fred thought.

p2

Always running late, Erica came straight to the runway from her paraffin wax treatment.

p3

Word to the wise, Susan- don’t wash your sweaters and stuffed animals together- and clean your lint trap out more often.

p4

That reminds me- time to change the storm windows out for screens. Thanks Phelan.

p5

Anita promised she would join her guests just as soon as she finished shucking the oysters- no one could say she wasn’t the perfect hostess.

This is like the art of taking the most amazing fabrics and turning into the most depressing clothes…ever. Well, maybe not ever, but for now! On the positive side, maybe they’ll end up at Goodwill and then we’ll have a chance to do a remake. Always a silver lining πŸ™‚

  2. I could use some of Eleanor’s dress fabric right now – I see it as a puppy grooming glove. Phelan’s hip bones are haunting me, how long is it since that gal had her proper share of cake?

  3. These are just sad. Even the fabrics aren’t doing anything for me. I don’t know… maybe the shiny fabrics in the first and last. I’m trying to be positive here.

These are the best yet! A few of them would make great Hallowe’en outfits! You always give me a good laugh with these, love your commentary.

  5. All I could see on the gal wearing the window screen is those painfully sharp hipbones. 😦 I know we joke about how models don’t eat, but she looks like she’s on her way to becoming another Isabelle Caro.

I’m on the fence about the fabrics though. The textures are…interesting…and have some coolness potential.

The fabric in the bottom half of those pants in the first pic is wonderful. But clearly, the designer felt it needed to be grafted onto some cheap ripstop nylon cast-off from someone’s ’80’s harem pants. Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!
And except that Eleanor’s dress makes me pleasantly nostalgic for my gran’s candlewick bedspread, I’d say the rest is pretty dismal. But, hey! Cheer up, girls. Halloween is right around the corner and at least you know there won’t be anyone else wearing the same costume! Silver lining, folks!

The window screen dress! Help her, someone! I love the fabric on the first pair of pants though… Would love to get my hands on it!
