Wearable Wednesday Miu Miu

Slumber Party at the asylum!

mm10

Where do I start? Are there only 20 pictures because everyone is wearing 3 outfits? Does Rainbow Brite know her shoes are missing?

mm2

Look at the t-shirts we made at Camp!

…and then the alarms went off and we had to run out of the hotel wearing whatever we could grab!

mm4

Stay off drugs, kids.

mm5

Don’t worry Margo- no one will know this is our first time at Coachella!

mm6

Preying Mantis flappers?

mm7

I really NEED the Tay-Swift squad to show up somewhere like this.

Is she steaming her bits on that radiator?

  1. Maybe I’m crazy; maybe I’m going senile; maybe it’s just too early in the morning, but I sort of like these. Not that I would ever be seen in public wearing any of it myself – or at least not all of it at once – but it pleases my eyes nevertheless and I might want to fondle some of the fabrics.

Oh and I want the shiny green boots too.

  2. Oh my gods, aaaaaah. Can’s unsee, can’s unsee! Bu here’s the good that comes from this: if anyone tries to convince me that mismatched novelty prints indicate home sewing, I will point them to this collection. And, really home sewists usually mix prints more skillfully.

  3. Some of those dresses are really nice, if you get rid of the ridiculous styling. And those flapper dresses look like they’re made of lambskin….. Wow. I’m liking some of the bags! 🙂

  4. The Rainbow Bright sisters wearing those George Foreman boxing shorts…and the rest…all I can say is…no need for special supportive undergarments…no need for undergarments at all…Baggy Rules! The shoes…they can be worn for 24 hours without any knee pain…good for us grandmas with creaky joints!

Miuccia Prada is definitely one of those designers that does her own thing, regardless of what anyone else thinks! This all looks crazy with the beads and hats and all, but some of the individual pieces are quite wearable. Most of the dresses would be pretty for a summer party or coffee date. The cropped pieces and long skirts somehow remind me of Esprit circa 1988 though.

  6. Sometimes I feel like I look like one of these girls when I ask, “Do these go together?” I would wear those pink or green satin culottes with a sleek black shirt all day!

Well. If this is an indication of the future of fashion, us sewists no longer have to bother with those pesky fitting issues.

PS-if you can’t say something nice say nothing at all. My comment is as nice as it gets from me.

  8. Clothes for chicks who regularly refer to themselves with the line “I am weird like that.” Still, I almost fell for SOME of the individual garments, especially for Margot’s (or is that Margot’s friend?) Coachella A-line skirt…until I wondered if the “flower of life” pattern placing might not appear bit too symbolical.

  9. …wait…I went back to check….that is not Margot, OR Margot’s friend’s skirt…that is the skirt of one of the Stay-off-drugs girls. I guess it is all the layering getting my mind all confused. I am obviously not good at weathering this kind of sensory overload! Who needs drugs!

I think I’ll go to vote in one of these numbers in November. Cause that’s how I feel about going to hell in a handbasket. Maybe I’ll do a crazy dance in the streets afterwards.

I am over sixty and wear only solid colours but this collection – it’s fun, for a 15-19 year old! I rather like the clothes, the colours and the styling and it made me happy looking at the photos.
