‘Honestly. Helens theme parties get more and more confusing everytime. Remember when she had the series 2 Detectorists premiere party? My upholstery sure does.’
‘Better than that ‘Gelatto for the Pontiff’ thing last fall!’
‘What about that outdoor thing where she just kept blasting ‘Tusk’ over the stereo….’
‘Oh, the marching band overnighter- I can’t even look at epaulettes now!?’
‘Remember the silent auction she had for the migrant farm workers? I never got my charitable giving form back.’
‘But her annual tea to kick off the Olive Gardens never ending pasta bowl’ is always so well attended!’
‘Is that the month after her annual birthday fete for Elton John and Kofi Annan?’
‘Yeah, weird them having the same birthday….’
‘ I thought getting Sir David Attenborough to read ‘ode to an Etruscan urn’ in a wading pool was quite stirring in 2012….good times’
‘Slap that Bass’ jazz night, why?’
‘I think you misunderstood….’
Ahem, well I love the shoes!!

I have finally found the dress of my dreams, a soup label printed sack cloth. Now that’s style! Note the facetious tone 😉

Oh dear! I would wear the Etruscan urn dress. [hangs head in shame]
There are several other pieces that I find strangely attractive, though not necessarily wearable.

Yes, I want to pet most of them- I like that urn frock too….

I like the Etruscan urn dress, too. I might even wear it, like, out in public. I love the wacky yellow jacket a lot. And the keyboard mini skirt (dress?) will be great for when I play the piano in church. Just the thing.

The shapes are great- but there’s a lot happening here!!

Wow! My mother grew up during the War and I am certain she never had a potato sack dress like this one. I think I might have difficulty getting my drum on the bus to work too!

???????? The designer was trying to be whimsical and fun, but I think they went too far.

Turned left at whimsy and right off that sartorial cliff!

Well, the thing that struck me the most was that most of the models look so cheery for a change! Must be a fun show to do.

Craftster stash busting inspiration?
Perhaps that everything’s gone quiet feeling is all those stitchers with a P&Q stash slipping away to hide and lock up their precious pieces.

Is it all about the prints on the fabric nowadays rather than what you do with the fabric? Not too much that’s new…..

I do like a novelty print on a non-quilty fabric!

Once I’d seen all the umm, “outfits”, the first one started to grow on me. Is that wrong?
My mental health aside, several observations:
1. re: ensemble # 4—I never knew the Vatican had a basketball team, much less a cheerleading squad. What a sheltered life I live! Must get out more.
2. re: the can of tomatoes frock: I was assured that the costume I wore in my kindergarten theatrical debut in “The Basic Food Groups” had been donated to the Smithsonian. Heads will roll.
3. I, too, must confess that I’m strangely attracted to the Etruscan Urn dress, even though it has a kind of polygamist sect vibe to it.
But the piano keyboard skirt…that’s just weird!

Am I the only one who noticed the pasta dress had a pasta bouquet on the lady garden?! And that it looks like pasta is holding up her boobies? This is a print placement 101 failure.
Also, I’m kind of guilty of liking some of the pieces, though not necessarily in the entire outfit. What can I say, I’m a sucker for blingy crosses. 😉
