Wearable Wednesday maison-rabih-kayrouz

It’s ok Rhoda- come on out. We’re here to help.

Gentle readers- do you know a model who is suffering from abuse at the hands of a bad designer?

Do they lack the will to stand upright and say ‘no. That’s not a dress! I won’t wear it!’

Do they suffer back and neck pain trying desperately to get their face out of frame during photo shoots?

Do you worry that they are hiding the matching belt for possible suicide attempts?

Do they suffer from excessive high waist chafing?

Do they feel weak and helpless in their dayglo textile shrouds?

Well, at least if they sit over a vent their dress will make jiffy pop!

  1. ok; So is there a faux-naive-designer vibe here I’m just not getting? Puffy gathered green sheer with too much fabric but strangulating neckline, overblown orange blob – aiming for a look drawn by a 6 year old?

  2. The text always comes up for me before the pictures, and I spend that second or so while the photos load trying to imagine what the photo is going to be and will it live up to your caption. I was half expecting a photo of Mary Tyler Moore in something strange with Rhoda Morgenstern egging her on. Thanks for posting! I love reading them! Do another movie sometime, hey?

  3. Oh yes! You must do more movies, please. Something with Barbara Stanwyck, perhaps?

This collection – better fitting would have made it 50% better. It’s hard to tell what I’m looking at here. That first outfit might have potential?

  4. JenL says:

I am just trying to figure out what some of directions the photographer was giving to the model:
Okay, do the old man slouch, hips forward.
    Now, fall asleep standing up.
Sleepy-pensive. No, more sleepy, less pensive.

  5. I agree with so many of the other commenters, what were the directions to the models? What a way to earn a living as nothing and nobody could make these look good. Except the green coat. I like the green coat, but the pocket placement? Imagine sitting down and getting stabbed by keys and crushing phone. Oh dear, form is definitely not following function!

  6. This is unspeakably sad.
Please do a movie! Something uplifting with “death” or “misery” or “calamity” in the title.
ANYTHING will be less depressing than this!
